Q • What are the opening times of the nursery?
Answer: Children attend either 5 morning sessions: 8.45 - 11.45am or 5 afternoon sessions: 12.40 - 3.40pm each week term time only.
Q • How many children are on roll?
Answer: 90 in total, 45 in the morning session and 45 in the afternoon session.
Q • Do the children play out in all weathers?
Answer: Yes! Your child will have access to the outdoor play area every day. It is important you provide your child with outdoor clothing that is suitable for the weather depending on the time of year. We provide rain coats, waterproof trousers and wellies.
Q • Will my child have a Learning Journal?
Answer: Yes! Evidence of your child's learning and development such as observations, photographs and artwork will be filed in their learning journal. Staff, in partnership with parents, use these journals to help them plan interesting and exciting activities which support children's development.
Q • How much is the cost of the Nursery's Voluntary Contribution Fund?
Answer: Nursery relies heavily on the voluntary contribution of £2.50 per week which is collected on a Monday in the nursery classroom and pre school room. This money enables the children to have a wide range of exciting activities such as baking, malleable play, toys/resources, parties and other special events
Q • What should I do if my child loses or damages their library book?
Answer: This should be reported to your child's keyworker as soon as possible. The costing to replace lost/damaged library book will be £5.
Q • What is the 'The Chatterbox Club'?
Answer: The Chatterbox Club is an extended service that operates from 3 rooms, the Messy Room, the Quiet Room and the Sleep Room . The Chatterbox Club caters for children from 2 to 4 years of age.
From the term after your child’s 3rd birthday they are entitled to 15 hours free nursery education per week and this can be accessed from all 3 rooms.
We also provide a Breakfast Club from 7.45am to 8.45am and a Lunch Club through The Chatterbox Club and this operates from 11:45 to 12:40pm. We aim to provide a flexible provision subject to availability enabling children to be able to access full days from 7:45am to 3:40pm from the age of 2 years. A regular punctual attendance is required.
Q • Do you offer any parent sessions?
Answer: Yes! We strive hard to meet the needs of all parents to support them to support their children. To date we have run Parent Courses on the Importance of Reading, How to Support your Child's Development, Healthy Cooking Sessions, Craft Sessions and Parent & Tots Sessions. We have a Parent Community Room available to accommodate your ideas. For further information please contact the nursery who will be happy to assist with your enquiry.
