Basnett Street Nursery School and The Chatterbox Club are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS)
Any future successful applicants will be subject to safeguarding checks. All staff will have to complete and return a Disclosure and Barring Service form along with documents proving their identity. This helps employers make safer recuitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups including children. The DBS will send a certificate to the successful applicant.
Disqualification by Association
All staff will be expected to complete a Disqualification by Association in relation to childcare disqualification. Staff members who work with children under 8 years disclose information with regard to a person who lives or works in the same household as them. This form is to be completed by all new staff before commencement of employment and by all staff on a termly basis.
Code of Conduct
The school Code of Conduct sets the standard of conduct, rules and responsibilities expected of all staff members at Basnett Steet Nursery school, all staff will be expected to follow the Code of Conduct.
Inset Day Training
At Basnett Street Nursery and The Chatterbox Club we recognise the importance of on-going professional development and supporting staff in order to raise the standard of teaching and learning across the nursery. For this reason there are 5 Inset days dedicated to staff training each academic year.
